Austin has a wealth of experience in all things small animal and hailing from a mixed practice background is happy to help out with larger animals too.

In his free time, Austin can be found hiking and exploring the Pilbara great outdoors and coastline.

Dr Natalie Rouillard, Vet

Natalie grew up in South Africa. Her love of animals as well as medicine drew her to veterinary science from a young age, and she qualified from university of Pretoria in 2002. Natalie worked in South Africa and the UK before settling in Australia. She has worked at Karratha Vet Hospital for the last few years, where her area of special interest is ultrasonography and imaging. Her two young sons keep her pretty busy, but she also enjoys hiking and swimming when she can.

Kara, Nurse Manager

A life-long lover of animal science, Kara turned to veterinary nursing after having previously invested time on other passions such as youth work, entertaining and home-schooling her children. Kara joined the Pets and Vets team in early 2017 when her family moved to Karratha. She enjoys volunteering at animal shelters, reptile and wildlife parks and plans to further develop her education in a broad range of veterinary avenues including captive animals, wildlife and marine biology. Outside of the animal world, Kara loves music, running, go-karting and going on adventures with her family and their dog, Jarvis.

Taylah, Vet Nurse

Taylah started working for Karratha Vet Hospital in August 2016. Taylah became a Vet Nurse due to her interest in and love for wildlife. She hopes that her nursing will one day lead her into the wildlife industry and her dream is to become a zoo keeper. Taylah is the proud mum of a Pilbara special puppy, two cats and two chickens. When she is not at work she can be found hanging out with her furry family, exploring the Pilbara or volunteering for wildlife programs.

Kaye, Vet Nurse

Kaye has worked for the Pets and Vets group since 2001 first at Lockyer Avenue Veterinary Hospital in Albany and now with Karratha Vet Hospital when she moved to Wickham with her family 4 years ago.

Kaye and her husband Gavin have 2 boys Diesel and Jaxon and a beloved bull arab called Tikka.

She loves working with all patients and their owners, and has a special love of bull terriers.

Brody, Vet Nurse

Brody started as a locum nurse with us in September 2018, after graduating in December 2017 and working at our Pets and Vets practices in Perth. Growing up loving surfing, riding motorbikes and fishing she jumped at the idea of relocating to where the desert meets the sea.

Her 1 year old female red cloud Kelpie x Huntaway “Sage” has also loved the idea of escaping the city to enjoy the red dirt.

Claudia, Trainee Vet Nurse

Claudia moved to Karratha in 2016 with her partner and their dog Dexter, a big energetic American Staffy x Bulldog. Claudia began studying her Cert IV in vet nursing at the beginning of 2017 and she began working at Karratha Vet Hospital as a volunteer at first but is now a part-timer whilst she finishes her Cert IV. In her spare time. She enjoys going to the beach, fishing and hanging out with her dog.

Tess, Administration/Reception

Tess relocated to Karratha with her partner in 2017. She has always had a strong passion for animals and animal welfare and loves working at reception where she has daily contact with pets and our clients.. She has a beautiful, yet very slobbery, 2 year old Dogue de Bordeaux called Mya.
